Manawatu Automotive Services is owned and run by Simon Charan, a registered company since 2022 with Simon as its sole director. When you ring the workshop, you're talking to the person who'll actually work on your car.
The reviews read like a highlights reel. A tourist's car died on a Saturday with a ferry booked for Tuesday; Simon had a new alternator in by Monday morning. “Can not recommend Simon enough! My car broke down on a Saturday afternoon (broken bearing on the alternator) and I had to take the ferry on Tuesday morning…Simon was able to sort the situation out on Monday morning and replaced the broken alternator in no time. Had a really nice chat in addition and paid a very fair price. If my car ever brakes down again in New Zealand, hopefully it will be in the Palmerston north area!”
